Happy Advent!

As the people of Israel waited for generations for the promised Messiah, we too enter into a season of waiting and longing for our Savior Jesus Christ by celebrating His birth. This season, we are called to deepen and renew the desire in our hearts to be in union with Him.

Our life is spent in waiting for his second coming in triumph and that is what Holy Mother Church invites us to do this season. Some practical things we can do in this season is a deeper dive into the daily Mass readings, the prayers for the Mass and silent reflection. The best place for silence is placing yourself before the Blessed Sacrament and visiting Him more often this month and perhaps making a regular Holy Hour in the near future. Bring Sacred Scripture, bring your worries, fears and anxieties before His Sacred Presence and invite the Lord into your heart and life. Say to the Lord when you’re in His Divine Presence, “speak Lord, your servant is listening.” Leave in thanksgiving and continue your gratitude throughout your day!

Speaking of waiting, our parish beautification initiative will have to wait a little longer to complete the work in our sanctuary. The prep work for the canvas is due to begin later in December and completed late January. Then the artist plans to begin working in the sanctuary in February of 2024. Then all the mural panels and hand stenciling by late March of 2024 are to be completed. This is the latest and updated timeline of our projects and I am so grateful for your generous love and support of beautifying our parish.

¡Feliz Adviento!

Mientras el pueblo de Israel esperaba durante generaciones al Mesías prometido, nosotros también entramos en una temporada de espera y anhelo por nuestro Salvador Jesucristo al celebrar Su nacimiento. En esta temporada, estamos llamados a profundizar y renovar el deseo en nuestros corazones de estar en unión con Él. Nuestra vida transcurre esperando su segunda venida triunfante y eso es lo que la Santa Madre Iglesia nos invita a hacer en esta temporada. Algunas cosas prácticas que podemos hacer en esta temporada son profundizar en las lecturas diarias de la Misa, las oraciones para la Misa y la reflexión silenciosa. El mejor lugar para el silencio es ponerse ante el Santísimo Sacramento y visitarlo más a menudo este mes y tal vez hacer una Hora Santa regular en el futuro cercano. Traed la Sagrada Escritura, traed vuestras preocupaciones, miedos y ansiedades ante Su Sagrada Presencia e invitad al Señor a vuestro corazón y a vuestra vida. Dile al Señor cuando estés en Su Divina Presencia: “Habla Señor, tu siervo te escucha”. ¡Sal en acción de gracias y continúa tu gratitud durante todo el día!

Hablando de espera, nuestra iniciativa de embellecimiento parroquial tendrá que esperar un poco más para completar el trabajo en nuestro santuario. El trabajo de preparación del lienzo comenzará a finales de diciembre y finalizará a finales de enero. Luego, el artista planea comenzar a trabajar en el santuario en febrero de 2024. Luego, todos los paneles murales y el estarcido a mano estarán terminados a fines de marzo de 2024. Este es el cronograma más reciente y actualizado de nuestros proyectos y estoy muy agradecido por su generoso amor y apoyo para embellecer nuestra parroquia.
