Happy Second Sunday in Advent!

This is my favorite season and Christmas is only two weeks away! That means tamales are getting ready and on other occasions enjoying some eggnog. Many friends and family arrive from all over. Here at St. Joan of Arc we are very blessed to have so many ways to encounter our Blessed Lord with Holy Mass, adoration and fellowship.

One invitation I want to extend is our Advent Day of Prayer on December 16th. The entire family of all ages are invited to pray before Mass with the Divine Office, Matins and Lauds, in the Church. The Rorate Caeli Mass (Candlelight at 8:30am) will follow and then a great breakfast prepared by the Knights of Columbus. After that, we will hear from the Norbertine and Crosier priests and sisters from the Society of Our Lady of the Trinity on how prayer shapes their life, and how in turn their lives shape others. We will participate with them in their prayer and be inspired by their devotion to Christ. Please be sure to register this week.

Lastly, you may have noticed our sound issues in the church. This has been a huge problem for quite some time and we are enhancing our sound quality throughout the church. The concept of having the proclamation of the Word of God projected in a natural way from the sanctuary seemed like a good idea, but in reality the experience to hear clearly throughout the church is what is best. Thank you for your patience as we carefully enhance our sound quality in church.

DE NUESTRA PASTORA

¡Feliz segundo domingo de Adviento!

¡Esta es mi estación favorita y solo faltan dos semanas para Navidad! Eso significa que se están preparando los tamales y en otras ocasiones disfrutando de un ponche de huevo. Llegan muchos amigos y familiares de todas partes. Aquí en Santa Juana de Arco tenemos la gran bendición de tener tantas maneras de encontrarnos con nuestro Bendito Señor con la Santa Misa, la adoración y el compañerismo.

Una invitación que quiero extender es nuestro Día de Oración de Adviento el 16 de diciembre. Toda la familia de todas las edades está invitada a orar antes de la Misa con el Oficio Divino, Maitines y Laudes, en la Iglesia. Seguirá la Misa de Rorate Caeli (con velas a las 8:30 am) y luego un gran desayuno preparado por los Caballeros de Colón. Después de eso, escucharemos a los sacerdotes y hermanas norbertinos y báculo de la Sociedad de Nuestra Señora de la Trinidad hablar sobre cómo la oración da forma a sus vidas y cómo, a su vez, sus vidas moldean a los demás. Participaremos con ellos en su oración y seremos inspirados por su devoción a Cristo. Asegúrese de registrarse esta semana.

Por último, es posible que hayas notado nuestros problemas de sonido en la iglesia. Este ha sido un gran problema desde hace bastante tiempo y estamos mejorando nuestra calidad de sonido en toda la iglesia. El concepto de tener la proclamación de la Palabra de Dios proyectada de manera natural desde el santuario parecía una buena idea, pero en realidad la experiencia de escuchar claramente en toda la iglesia es lo mejor. Gracias por su paciencia mientras mejoramos cuidadosamente nuestra calidad de sonido en la iglesia.
