Happy Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time!

This Friday, February 2nd is the 40th day since we celebrated the Nativity of the Lord. On this feast, our Blessed Lord Jesus was presented in the Temple by Mary and Joseph. You may have noticed the retention of the Christmas trees. This gave a subtle impression of the Christmas season’s continuation and culmination of this day. Our Mass will be solemn and dark as you enter this morning. All are invited to bring candles of your own to be blessed and then we will walk into the church with different lighted candles.

A new addition to this morning will include the placing of a candle for a child lost through miscarriage before the statue of the Holy Family in the church. Please invite any mother you know to process with one of our candles and receive a special blessing during the prayers of intercession. After Holy Mass, all are invited and welcomed to Santa Maria Hall for refreshments, a testimony of God’s power to heal the heart after miscarriage and a group prayer lead by Alison Oertle. Several mothers arranged for a play area for little ones with care and activities during the testimony.

My hope is you all had a blessed Christmas season! I am so grateful for the many gifts, Christmas cards, beverages and treats. I am truly best to lead us into this new year with joyful hope in God’s blessing upon our parish.

DE ADMINISTRADORA PAROCHIAL

¡Feliz Cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario!

Este viernes dos de febrero se cumplen cuarenta días desde que celebramos la Natividad del Señor. En esta fiesta, nuestro Bendito Señor Jesús fue presentado en el Templo por María y José. Quizás hayas notado la retención de los árboles de Navidad. Esto dio una sutil impresión de la continuación de la temporada navideña y la culminación de este día. Nuestra Misa será solemne y oscura al entrar esta mañana. Todos están invitados a traer sus propias velas para ser bendecidas y luego entraremos a la iglesia con diferentes velas encendidas.

Una nueva adición a esta mañana incluirá la colocación de una vela por un niño perdido por un aborto natural (muerte natural en el útero) ante la estatua de la Sagrada Familia en la iglesia. Por favor invite a cualquier madre que conozca a realizar una procesión con una de nuestras velas y reciba una bendición especial durante las oraciones de intercesión. Después de la Santa Misa, todos están invitados y bienvenidos al Salón Santa María para tomar un refrigerio, un testimonio del poder de Dios para sanar el corazón después de un aborto espontáneo y una oración grupal dirigida por Alison Oertle. Varias madres dispusieron una zona de juegos para los pequeños con cuidados y actividades durante el testimonio.

¡Espero que todos hayan tenido una bendecida temporada navideña! Estoy muy agradecida por los muchos regalos, tarjetas navideñas, bebidas y golosinas. Realmente soy mejor para guiarnos en este nuevo año con gozosa esperanza en la bendición de Dios sobre nuestra parroquia.
