Happy Sunday!

You may have noticed our beautiful flower arrangements near the altar at Mass during the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary last week. Thanks to the Little Flower Ministry of young ladies dedicating their service to the Lord with altar arrangements and preparations for the Holy Mass for beautifying our sanctuary. The flowers help us be reminded of God’s creation and beautiful skillset of his handiwork.

This quotation is taken from a book The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by Father Nicholas Gihr: A holy religious, the Capuchin Francis Borgia, used to say: “God has left us from Paradise three things: the stars, the flowers and the eyes of a child.” In fact, flowers have in God’s creation a place entirely their own; they are on the globe of the earth what the stars are in the canopy of heaven — uneffaced traces of a former world, the earthly Paradise, the least affected by the curse of sin. In the splendor of their colors, in their fragrance, they are revelations of the beauty and goodness of God, emblems of His benevolence, images of His first, true designs (Isa. 25, 1)”

The flowers in the sanctuary give us a freshness of their fragrance, a reminder of the process in which a beautiful flower blooms through the warmth of the sunlight and we present them to God. We have “Flower Donation” options to help support the work of the Little Flower Ministry at our parish to coincide with the seasons and feasts of our liturgical calendar.

O Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us!

Es posible que haya notado nuestros hermosos arreglos florales cerca del altar en la Misa durante la Solemnidad de la Asunción de la Santísima Virgen María la semana pasada. Gracias al Ministerio de la Pequeña Flor de señoritas que dedican su servicio al Señor con arreglos de altar y preparativos para la Santa Misa para embellecer nuestro santuario. Las flores nos ayudan a recordar la creación de Dios y el hermoso conjunto de habilidades de su obra.

Esta cita está tomada de un libro El Santo Sacrificio de la Misa del Padre Nicolás Gihr: Un santo religioso, el capuchino Francisco Borgia, decía: “Dios nos ha dejado del Paraíso tres cosas: las estrellas, las flores y los ojos de un niño.” De hecho, las flores tienen en la creación de Dios un lugar completamente propio; son en el globo terráqueo lo que son las estrellas en el dosel del cielo: vestigios imperecederos de un mundo anterior, el Paraíso terrenal, el menos afectado por la maldición del pecado. En el esplendor de sus colores, en su fragancia, son revelaciones de la belleza y de la bondad de Dios, emblemas de su benevolencia, imágenes de sus primeros y verdaderos designios (Is. 25, 1)

Las flores del santuario nos regalan la frescura de su fragancia, un recuerdo del proceso en el que una hermosa flor brota al calor del sol y se las presentamos a Dios. Tenemos opciones de "Donación de flores" para ayudar a apoyar el trabajo del Ministerio Little Flower en nuestra parroquia para que coincida con las estaciones y fiestas de nuestro calendario litúrgico.
