St. Joan of Arc Sacred Art Project
We are excited to announce plans for the St. Joan of Arc Sacred Art Project! The main portion of this project will be two images of St. Joan of Arc which will be installed on the large panels to the left and right of the altar. Ruth Stricklin of New Jerusalem Studios has been commissioned to create these unique pieces for our church.
Other things included in the project will be images of angels surrounding the glass panels, and extending the wood paneling along the whole wall to the left and right of the altar. You can see renderings of this project in the images below.
Finally, thanks to a generous donor, we will be commissioning a new altar which will have a proper place for a relic of a saint, one that will be slightly larger in size to accommodate the Communion needs of our parish. The current altar will remain a part of our parish but will be relocated to the St. Katharine Drexel Chapel.
The total cost of this project will be around $125,000. Thanks to the generosity of donors, about 40% of the funds have already been raised! However, there is still a ways to go! We will be using the Parish Beautification collection to continue fundraising – a link to make a donation is also provided below.
Our goal is to have the new artwork ready by January of 2023. Please consider supporting this project and praying for its success!
