Rite of Reception of a Baptized Christian into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church

10:30am Special Mass/Event

We will be celebrating the Rite of Reception of a Baptized Christian into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church at the 10:30am Mass. At this Mass, Rick Mota will be fully received into the Catholic Church. Please keep him and his family in your prayers!

Those who were baptized in a separated Christian community and desire to come into the full communion of the Catholic Church celebrate this rite, for the fullest expression of baptism is found within the Catholic Church. Because they are baptized and believe in Christ, they are never referred to as "converts," a term that more strictly belongs to catechumens -- those adults who, after encountering the mystery of Christ, are being apprenticed in the Christian life as they prepare for baptism and full initiation in the Church. The process for catechumens differs from those who are already baptized because all those who are baptized already share sacramentally in the life of the Church.
