Happy Father’s Day!

This weekend we pause for a brief moment for a debt of gratitude for fathers and honor them for their sacrificial love of the family. This is the natural ability of these men who are faithful to their wives and families. As fathers journey and lead their families in fatherhood, they are reminded to impart justice and mercy in their household.

As the culture tries to diminish this important head of the household, we can’t help but notice the devastating effects of this weakening of family life without a father. On this Most Holy Trinity Sunday, we reflect with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and their union draws us into a relationship with them. This infinite and divine love becomes unitive and generative. Our creation was not needed, but through this unitive and generative fruit, all of creation exists in their unity. The more we enter into this total offering of one's self, the more we participate in this order of divine love and can love like the Most Holy Trinity. When we enter into the depths of God’s heart, we find true freedom. Our silence in adoration, prayer, and thanksgiving unite us more perfectly with God. Join me in giving thanks to God for giving us fathers after His own heart!

Fiesta de la Santísima Trinidad

¡Feliz Día del Padre!

Este fin de semana, hacemos una breve pausa para expresar nuestra gratitud a los padres y honrarlos por su amor sacrificado por la familia. Esta es la capacidad natural de estos hombres fieles a sus esposas y familias. A medida que los padres avanzan y lideran a sus familias en la paternidad, se les recuerda que deben impartir justicia y misericordia en su hogar. Mientras la cultura intenta minimizar a esta importante cabeza de familia, no podemos evitar notar los efectos devastadores de este debilitamiento de la vida familiar sin un padre. En este Domingo de la Santísima Trinidad, reflexionamos con el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, y su unión nos lleva a una relación con ellos. Este amor infinito y divino se vuelve unitivo y generativo. Nuestra creación no fue necesaria, pero a través de este fruto unitivo y generativo, toda la creación existe en su unidad. Cuanto más nos adentramos en esta ofrenda total de uno mismo, más participamos en este orden de amor divino y podemos amar como la Santísima Trinidad. Cuando entramos en las profundidades del corazón de Dios, encontramos la verdadera libertad. Nuestro silencio en adoración, oración y acción de gracias nos une más plenamente a Dios. ¡Únanse a mí para dar gracias a Dios por darnos padres según su corazón!
