Pentecost

Hello,

If Christmas and Easter celebrate the great mysteries of Christ, then Pentecost celebrates the great mystery of the Church. Some people call Pentecost the birthday of the Church. It was that day when the Holy Spirit came upon the gathering of believers and sent the apostles out into the streets to proclaim the Good News. It was that day when the gathering of believers were gifted with the power of God to carry out the mission with which they had been charged. They became the Church, the instrument of God on earth through which he would call all people into unity and new life.

Today that mission remains the same and despite many changes the Church remains the same. As the saying goes, the more things change the more they stay the same. We have been called into the Church and into her mission as well. And we have been gifted with the Holy Spirit so that we might carry out our part in this incredible life. It is an amazing thing to be part of this, God’s work in the world. But it is true. He has called me and you to be His servants in the world for His glory and greater purpose. And He will see to it that we have what we need to do the job. If we need healing, He will grant it. If we need a solution to a problem, He will help us solve it. Whatever challenge we may be facingH is there to see us through, if we call upon Him and seek His help.

Pentecost is a great celebration for each of us. The Holy Spirit himself fills us! Only let us see that this also makes us part of the Church and of her mission. We are filled for a purpose, that we too may take our place in the ranks of the Church to fight the good fight of the faith. As we say our prayers let us keep this truth in our minds and hearts. We do not pray alone. We pray for and with each other for the sake of God’s plan in the world. May you and your families rejoice this day and in your summer break!

God Bless,

Pentecostés

Hola,

No rezamos solos.

Dios bendiga,

P, Vietor
