Happy Easter!

The Lord is risen! We are in strange times yet beautiful times! Never before have we celebrated the Triduum in private. These past four weeks have been without the public celebration of the Eucharist, and yet I have heard many wonderful stories of how your faith has been nourished. As the Church celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus, we are reminded that He is the Lord of all. He is not only the Lord of each of us, but He is Lord of life and death. Jesus is the one with true dominion over all things.

One of my favorite images in our Church is the stained glass above the main doors of the Church. In it we see Jesus Christ coming up out of the tomb with his hand raised in blessing as he holds the cross. His feet are straddled over the tomb, which for so many is the definitive sign of death. As Jesus comes up out of it, He reminds us that He is the bridge from death to Life. To come under his authority and receive his blessing also means to come under the sign of the cross. But now the cross is the great sign of life and victory.

Wherever we find ourselves we can place ourselves under the sign of the cross, our great hope offered us by the Risen Jesus. I've been praying for all of you during this time of great difficulty and my prayers will continue. Thank you for all of yours for myself, Fr. Cruz, and the whole staff here. Have a blessed Easter!

Christ's peace,

Feliz Pascua!

P. Connealy
