St. Joan of Arc Parish Mission Statement

Courageously following Christ by serving the community
through Catholic liturgy, Gospel values, charity and education.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

St. Joan of Arc Parish exists so that God’s children may develop, grow, embrace and live the faith and life of Our Lord Jesus Christ as revealed and taught by the Gospel and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Canon 515 of the Code of Canon Law states:

“A parish is a definite community of the Christian faithful established on a stable basis within a particular church; the pastoral care of the parish is entrusted to a pastor as its own shepherd under the authority of the diocesan bishop.”

Furthermore, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

“It [the parish] is the place where all the faithful can be gathered together for the Sunday Eucharist. The parish initiates the Christian people into the ordinary expression of the liturgical life: it gathers them together in this celebration; it teaches Christ’s saving doctrine; and it practices the charity of the Lord in good works and love.”

St. Joan of Arc Parish continues to strive to develop and carry out the Church’s mission of providing opportunities for people to encounter the living Christ through the liturgical, spiritual and ministerial activities of the parish. As we journey together in faith, may our prayer always be that parishioners of St. Joan of Arc Parish mirror, in all ways, the values, teachings and life of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A key way to ensure that a parish functions properly is through the participation of a healthy parish council. The parish council can be a wonderful instrument of helping a parish grow in holiness. In years past we have had some excellent input from our very active and dedicated parish council. I would like to re-engage the parish council here at St. Joan of Arc. To do so, I would like you to prayerfully consider being a member or nominating a parishioner who you think would be an asset to the council. Just a bit of information: Members would commit to a one or a two-year term limit. The council would meet quarterly.

Please prayerfully consider nominating someone for this important work of service here at St. Joan of Arc. Remember that you must be an active, registered and contributing member to qualify. Please submit your nominations by email to: frkline@stjoanofarc.com by May 30, 2017.

God Bless,
Fr. Don Kline, V.F.

Fr. Don Kline, V.F.
