Thank You!

Happy Sunday and Happy Easter!

Jesus Christ is risen! In the midst of the wildness in which we find ourselves we still celebrate the Lord's Resurrection. We are very privileged to have had the Church remain open for private prayer and to have the adoration chapel continue. Thank you to our wonderful adorers who continue to spend an hour with the Lord every week. This has been such a great gift to our parish and to many others. In fact, during the Triduum, I met two young people who had driven from Tucson to pray in our Church! The Lord is truly at work.

I want to take this time to thank all of you for your generosity. This has been a time of great uncertainty for many of us. I have sent out letters to all of you sharing with you the financial situation of St. Joan of Arc. The response you have offered has been so incredible. While things remain difficult, the support you continue to offer has been a great help. I am very humbled to be part of St. Joan of Arc, let alone your pastor. You are all truly a gift. Thank you for the witness of generosity you have offered to me and each other.

The work of the parish is continuing. We have been using this time as a staff to plan for the fall programs; to reach out to parishioners individually (there's a lot of you!); to understand better why we do what we do, and much more. I am grateful to have this time with our wonderful staff to ask ourselves why St. Joan of Arc exists. As we understand more deeply why any parish exists, we understand the Great Commission, to go and make disciples. Please pray with me for obedience to the Holy Spirit to faithfully carry out the mission of the Church here in our little section of Phoenix. I would also invite you to pray for any young people in our parish whom the Lord might be inviting to follow Him as priests or religious sisters. Even in a time like this the Lord continues to speak.

Know of my prayers for all of you. God bless you!

In Christ,
Fr. Connealy

¡Feliz domingo y feliz Pascua!
