Happy Easter!

On May 3rd we celebrated the First Holy Communion and Confirmation Mass with so many of our children here at the parish. Many years of preparation and growing in the faith are a necessary completion of baptismal grace. “For by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (Catechism 1285)

This spiritual seal and reception of the Holy Eucharist must be safeguarded in our parish families and all of us have a responsibility to reflect who we receive. These children and adults fully initiated radiate with beauty, health, and strength of the faith.

My First Reception of Holy Communion occurred on April 26, 1998 and Confirmation on May 5, 2006. With great confidence, I can say in truth that He has never left me and has willed to remain with me permanently. It’s so true regarding our reflection of these first encounters with our Blessed Lord. The beginning of the faith began at baptism and continues to the every end with His presence along the way. Please pray for these children and adults in our parish family who received First Eucharist and Confirmation.

¡Felices Pascuas!

El 3 de mayo celebramos la Primera Comunión y la Misa de Confirmación con muchos de nuestros niños aquí en la parroquia. Muchos años de preparación y crecimiento en la fe son una culminación necesaria de la gracia bautismal. “Porque "por el sacramento de la Confirmación, [los bautizados] están más perfectamente ligados a la Iglesia y son enriquecidos con una fuerza especial del Espíritu Santo. Por lo tanto, como verdaderos testigos de Cristo, están más estrictamente obligados a difundir y defender la fe por palabra y obra”. (Catecismo 1285)

Este sello espiritual y la recepción de la Sagrada Eucaristía deben salvaguardarse en nuestras familias parroquiales y todos nosotros tenemos la responsabilidad de reflejar a quién recibimos. Estos niños y adultos plenamente iniciados irradian belleza, salud y fuerza de la fe.

Mi Primera Comunión ocurrió el 26 de abril de 1998 y mi Confirmación el 5 de mayo de 2006. Con gran confianza puedo decir en verdad que Él nunca me ha abandonado y ha querido permanecer conmigo permanentemente. Es muy cierto en nuestra reflexión sobre estos primeros encuentros con nuestro Bendito Señor. El comienzo de la fe comenzó en el bautismo y continúa hasta el final con Su presencia en el camino. Ore por estos niños y adultos de nuestra familia parroquial que recibieron la Primera Eucaristía y la Confirmación.
